Bye Bye 50k Last Minute Rulebuster/PerkPass

Effective immediately NWA is matching Delta's change in award seat availability. Instead of booking RuleBuster award seats in Y, the last available Coach ticket bucket (for 50,000 miles round trip) RuleBuster (aka PerkPass) will now be booked as a 'V' ticket (but only 40,000 miles). What does this mean? Well, you will have availability for award tickets for less miles (win) but lose the huge value in award tickets in that you could hold onto the 50,000 miles for that last minute trip that you had to go on and save the $1200 in airfare that it would have cost you. Is it an all-around win for the consumer... Heck no. Is it a even trade... You could call it that, but I won't.

In the end, I like the proposal of a fellow traveler that 'prices' for Reward tickets should be based on a sliding scale...

Lots of Seats Available for Sale - 25k
Some Seats Available for Sale - 40k
Very Few Seats Available for Sale - 50k

We'll see what happens but the origins of this WorldPerks change was squarely from Delta. SkyMiles & WorldPerks are merging closer by the hour.
